Town & City Spotlight terms of use.

Operational terms draft — effective September 24, 2026. Town & City Spotlight is a free local-business feature from Town & City Marketing. A business cannot buy inclusion, and purchasing or declining Town & City Marketing services does not affect Spotlight eligibility, permanence, placement, or link treatment.

Private preparation and business approval

Town & City may prepare a private rough draft from verified public business information, first-party website image candidates, and owner answers. Public availability alone does not establish accuracy or media rights. An authorized representative must approve the exact facts, copy, and selected media revision, including image rights where media is selected. That action submits the revision for Town & City publication quality assurance and does not publish automatically.

Corrections, holds, and removal

The representative may correct, reject, or remove candidate facts and photos before approval. Town & City Spotlight may hold, correct, temporarily unpublish, or remove information that is stale, inaccurate, unsafe, unlawful, disputed, or no longer verifiable. A removal request is separate from promotional consent.

No results guarantee

Publication does not guarantee search rankings, AI mentions or citations, traffic, referrals, leads, customers, or revenue. Search engines and AI systems control their own crawling, indexing, retrieval, and results.

Public links and media

Businesses must have authority to provide or approve submitted information and selected media. A rough-draft disclaimer is not a substitute for media rights. Public website links are part of the free informational Spotlight and are not sold as ranking links. Spotlight approval does not authorize printing, mailers, paid advertising, promotional email, or unrelated reuse.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another business's invitation, interview, draft, media, approval state, or analytics; interfere with security controls; scrape private routes; submit false authority or image-rights certifications; upload unlawful material; or provide passwords, payment data, private customer records, or medical records.

Separate commercial work

Any paid Town & City Marketing service is governed separately by the applicable signed proposal, statement of work, or service agreement. A free Spotlight does not create a paid engagement, and paid work does not buy Spotlight inclusion. Where a signed service document conflicts with these website terms for paid work, the signed document controls that engagement.

Third-party services and limitations

Town & City Spotlight uses independent infrastructure and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Google, Apple, Microsoft, Meta, Yelp, OpenAI, or other search, map, social, or AI platforms. The website and draft tools are provided on an as-available basis. Nothing on the site is legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
